Oops I think maybe I'm doing something wrong....she has to be mad at me, she thinks I'm trying to confuse her or something.

Rumors of new technology This could be the solution to our portable energy issues. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EEstor
Sounds al little hard to swallow. The secrecy is enough to make me skeptical, kind of like the morketing done for Segway.
Keep watching the news for an actual working prototype. | | Friday, May 9th, 2008 | | 12:04 pm |
L4M3 No one on my friends list has posted since Tuesday. Punks
I just wrapped up week 3 at Scarebus. I'm starting to egt useful arouns here. I've been brushing up on my (almost nonexistant) Excel VBA skillz.. In the process, I've learned a ton more shortcuts and tricks for working faster/better. For instance, one can select a range of cells, press shift, and then the edit menu. A couple of new options will be available that allow you to copy the cells as an [non-bitmap?] image.
Lara and I are going to order our invitations today, and wrap up our Bed, Bath, and Beyond bridal registry. We both hate it, but can't think of another way to avoid getting 12 toasters and 100 towels.
Snippets of text.; It's a good call, per my technical writing professor, Bob Kneivel.
I'm getting more bike rides and jogs, and the winter weenieness is going away. That's happy.
I have a ton of files and paperwork to file and make decisions about. I hate that.
I think I'm going to put the top down on my Jeep this weekend sometime. I have not done it at all this year.
I'm tired because I didn't get to bed early enough all week. It makes my writing boring.
I'm 28 now. That's exciting. It's only 12 years away from 40.
THERE! something has been posted. | | Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 | | 9:00 am |
Pandora Frustration Good giref, I've been trying to build a decent Crash Test Dummies station all morning on Pandora, and can't get it right. I don't care if it plays stuff that isn't CTD, but the songs seem to be all over the map. Maybe there is nothing quite like CTD. that band never got the respect it deserved. | | Tuesday, April 29th, 2008 | | 7:14 am |
meme, you know which one The Rules "1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me." 2. I will respond by asking you five questions of a very intimate and creepily personal nature. Or not so creepy/personal. 3. You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions. 4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post. 5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions" | | Monday, April 14th, 2008 | | 6:56 pm |

Late at work, listening to Pandora Tangerine Dream's “Pilots of Purple Twilight” is more avant garde, yet surprisingly similar to, Some Assembly Required in instrumentation and styling. Think about it. Does Pandora's audio stream hurt anyone else's ears? Seems harsh for some reason. Current Music: Are You Experienced - Toadsuck Symphony | | Saturday, March 29th, 2008 | | 1:49 pm |

Some Assembly Required #2 Who else missed the double entendre of this band's name?? I defend my slowness to pick up on it because I was less than 10 years old when I first knew of the music. | | Tuesday, March 18th, 2008 | | 4:39 pm |

Revamped V-Amp Eliminates Audio Cramp Success! I pulled the destructolated V-amp (http://www.tweakheadz.com/review_of_the_V-Amp2.htm) apart again, grabbed a beer, a soldering iron, and some 32 gage stranded wire, and got to work. It turns out I was lucky, and the fine circuit traces leading from the input jack acted as a fuse before any other components were damaged. I used an Exact-o knife to peel off the crispy-fried filaments of copper, and soldered in the fine wire with silver solder. I glued the wires down with Loctite since the traces looked like they might continue to delaminate, and then put it all back together. A test run revealed full functionality. As promised, my next task was to knock together a quick transformer-based isolating circuit. I used one of the 10K to 2K signal transformers I had laying around from the stockpile of parts I got from Ryan High School’s old PA system. I wired a 0.01 uF capacitor in series with the signal to the xfmr, and also put in a 5K trim pot voltage divider to attenuate the signal. (come to think of it, I better make sure that the R-C-L doesn’t affect the tone too much…) . I wired the secondary of the xfmr to another jack with the GROUND ISOLATED from the other. With all the components in place, I fired the rig up and everything worked great. There is a little noise from the unshielded signal connections, but I set the Vamp’s noise gate pretty high, so at least it’s only annoying when a note is played at lower volume levels/ I also hooked up the other channel for super stereo rotary speaker effect goodness. It was all I had hoped for. Good times. |
